Selanne is my hero in more ways than one. He came back from the 2006 Olympics with a silver medal, which is huge for Finland. In the final, they lost to Sweden, their Scandinavian frenemy. Also, Selanne lost two of his teeth. When I saw him after the Olympic break, I asked him if two teeth were worth the silver. "Yesh", he said. "How many teeth would you have given for a gold?" I inquired playfully. He thought about it, then answered, all earnest: "Shiksh". Also, he remembers every goal he has ever scored, and he scored a LOT.
My mom with Maria. We shot about 20 these and I like this one the best. My mom had it framed and hanging in her room for the rest of her life. Through me, she became a huge tennis fan, or rather, a fan of Russian tennis players, primarily Sharapova. It's hard not to like Maria once she has turned her charm offensive on you. I hear not many people see that side of her. Is that true?
